Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances
Nearly all of Whitney Houston Live features her national TV appearances, from a standout cover of Stephanie Mills' "Home" on The Merv Griffin Show in 1983 to a bittersweet performance of "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" on Oprah Winfrey in 2009. These songs have swelling orchestras, Houston's booming, authoritative voice, and loudly cheering audiences -- "stadium status," as Kanye West once put it. (The military crowd that hears "A Song for You" is particularly raucous.) Her duet with Wyclef Jean on "My Love Is Your Love" is refreshingly simple by comparison.
