Where It's At
Label: Broken Bow Records
On his sophomore effort, it sounds like the country boy has gotten used to the big city, with louder guitars, a faster (singing) pace and even some hip-hop-influenced beats. Where It's At is an apt title, because the album fits right in with today's modern country. The title track features a slinky guitar lick that is almost as great as the "yep, yep" in the chorus, while "Halo" features handclaps, percolated beats and one catchy hook. Other highlights include the twanging tearjerker "Your Daddy's Boots," the gentle heartland rocker "Middle of Nowhere" and the rousing "Hell of a Night."
